Local Plan Consultation - Have Your Say

Hinckley Council are in the process of rewriting the Local Plan and are consulting on their spatial strategy for housing.
This is important as it will say how many houses will be built in the borough and where they will be built

The current Local Plan runs until 2026, but it will be replaced by the new Local Plan in 2021 which will then run until 2036.

The spatial strategy will state (at a high level) the principles for where new housing will be allocated. This strategy will feed
into our Neighbourhood Plan most probably as a housing allocation for the village.

For Stoke Golding there are some worrying statements in this document. The thrust seems to be that the urban areas are
struggling to absorb new development because of infrastructure issues so they are looking at developing rural areas!
One potential area is to the NW of Hinckley (see map).

The council are consulting on their strategy which they have called New Directions For Growth. You can find the consultation
document together with details of how to respond by clicking the link above or visit www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/localplanreview.
There are just 6 questions to answer but please use the opportunity to share any thoughts you may have regarding future
development within the village with HBBC.
The consultation for this stage of the review of the local plan closes on 3rd March 2019.

There could be significant implications for the village. It it is important that you make your views known so please
do take the time to respond.

We would urge you to attend one of the two remaining "drop-in" consultation events:
Tuesday 29 January 2019 at Market Bosworth Village Hall - 5pm to 8pm
Thursday 31 January 2019 at Sainsbury's Hinckley - 11am to 7pm
